The DUBLIN HISTORY GROUP Inc. now reside in the Dublin Institute and have set-up the facility to enable the group's work to continue and progress in compiling storing recording and preservation of the History of the "Hundred of Dublin". The "Official" opening took place on Sunday 20th May 2012.

The Dublin History Group is compiling an album of movies, TV series, and advertisements filmed in our local area over the years. A huge thank you to Ros Franks for sharing her memories of the Red Dog filming back in 2010—it gives a fantastic behind-the-scenes look at the filmmaking process! If you have your own stories or experiences with local film productions, we’d love to hear them.
We were unable to screen Red Dog during our 150th Anniversary Weekend as planned but are excited to announce this authorised special screening at the Dublin Institute on 8th November at 2.00 pm as part of the 2026, 150th Birthday

The Future of our History

The Research Centre will become the Centre of Dublin, with workshops being conducted by experts in the preservation of documents, artifacts and photographs. The Institute will also be brought into the 21st Century with an up-grade in technology. The Centre will eventually be seen to be open on a number of days during the week and can be availed by locals and visitors, particularly those interested in researching their family.
