Dublin History Group’s contribution to the South Australian History
Festival
Presented by the Dublin History Group Inc.
This year, we celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Dublin’s naming
through a unique three-part journey that connects our past residents
with the future of our township.
Part 1:
The Unearthing (April 13, 2026)
The journey began at Lions Park. After 25 years underground, the 2001
Time Capsule was successfully recovered to mark our 150th milestone
celebrations.
Part 2:
The Exhibition (May
17, 2026)
2001 – 2026 – 2051
Location: Dublin Institute
Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Come and see what life looked like at the turn of the millennium! We
will be displaying the original contents of the 2001 capsule.
• Contribute to History: We invite all community members to bring
items or messages to include in the 2051 Time Capsule.

• The Connection: Selected items from the original capsule will
be placed into the new one, creating a direct link between the generations.
Part 3: The Legacy (June 14, 2026)
Location: Dublin Lions Park
Time: 1:00 PM
The cycle continues as we return the new time capsule to the earth.
We invite everyone to witness this "relay to the future,"
where our shared stories will be preserved for those who will call Dublin
home in 2051
