From the Plains to the Coast: Every Story Matters
History isn't just found in books—it lives in the memories of
people and the objects they’ve left behind. From the quiet stretches
of the plains to the salt air of the coast, every story helps complete
the puzzle of our shared heritage
Your voice is the missing piece of our history. We are seeking volunteers
to help preserve and share the unique heritage of our region. Whether
you are a lifelong resident or a newcomer with a love for heritage,
your unique perspective can help ensure our history isn't just remembered,
but celebrated.
• Research & Documentation: Uncover hidden stories and archive
local records.
• Collection Care: Help catalogue and maintain historical artefacts.
• Exhibitions & Events: Assist in setting up displays, events
and welcoming visitors to the Institute.
• Digital Storytelling: Help us share our history with a wider
audience through social media and digital records. Manage social media
or digitize archival photos.
• Community Outreach: Help coordinate workshops and tours that
bring our past into the present.
Why Volunteer?
Volunteering with a local history group is about more than just looking
at the past; it’s about ensuring it isn’t forgotten. Whether
you have a few hours a month or a day a week, there is a place for
your unique skills
• Connect: Build meaningful friendships within the community.
• Preserve: Ensure future generations know the legacy of our
area.
• Grow: Gain unique skills in curation, research, and public
speaking.
